About YEEC

WHO WE ARE

Youth Environmental Education Conference (YEEC), which runs in line and is mainstreamed to the World Environmental Education Congress, is a platform that provides opportunities to engage youth in Environmental Education, and articulate their thoughts, challenges, address their interests, concerns, and goals. Additionally, YEEC provide opportunities for youth to engage with practitioners in the design, process and implementation of Environmental Education initiatives and programmes.

The YEEC aims to empower youth voices in environmental education, providing a platform for young people to share their thoughts, challenges, goals, and aspirations in a collaborative, global environment. This Congress seeks to foster a dynamic approach to environmental education and one driven by youth participation and leadership.

By involving youth in decision-making and action, the YEEC aims to bridge the gap between young people and professionals in the field of environmental education. The aim is to create lasting partnerships and cross-generational dialogue opportunities. Youth is defined as anyone under 35 years of age according to the UN definition. This includes three specific groups including Young Persons (12–18 years), Young Adults (18–25 years) and Young Professionals (25–35 years).

YOUR VOICE, YOUR WAY

Are you a young person leading the change to address environmental issues and advance sustainability?

You can submit your stories, artwork, or videos, focusing on what matters most to you and your community regarding the planet’s future and how we can all actively create change. This is a platform for youth worldwide to share their unique perspectives, ideas, and experiences. Whether it’s through a written story, video, artwork, photos, or any other creative form that speaks to you – your story is valuable, and we want to highlight it at the Congress in your voice, your way!
